All measures in place for Ganesh Festival: Telangana DGP

City police are all geared up to ensure smooth Ganesh festival in twin cities of Hyderabad and Secundrabad in Telangana State.

About 20,000 police personnel and men have been deployed to ensure Ganesh Immersion proceeds without hassle tomorrow, according the DGP office.

“All measures are in place to ensure a smooth conclusion of the Ganesh Immersion festival this year, said TS DGP Anurag Sharma adding that “no efforts are being spared to provide a safe and devotional experience to the devotees without causing any disturbance or inconvenience to the general public.”

A team of 12 senior IPS officers will be supervising the arrangements in various sectors, apart from City Police officers.
Among part of bandobust duty for final day of Ganesh immersion in Hyderabad, Cyberabad West and Rachakonda City Commissionerates are 10,000 police officers and men called in from Armed Reserve, TSSP, TSPA, CID, and districts.

In the city, as many as 13 companies of Central Paramilitary Force, including four RAF, four CISF and five CRPF have been deployed.

In addition, 300 personnel of GRP are deployed. A total of 1600 police personal and men are drawn from other states.

Ten APSP platoons from Andhra Pradesh and 280 officers from Chhattisgarh have also been deployed in the city.
Two teams of NDRF are stationed at Tank Bund (Hussain Sagar) and Saroor Nagar lakes near the immersion points to meet any eventuality.

Also in action will be 425 Excise Department personnel and 425 Forest Department personnel.

As many as 51 static cranes are in place to aid proper immersion, in addition to 91 mobile cranes across the city to facilitate hassle-free transportation of Ganesh idols from various pandals.

The DGP office noted that about 2000 CCTV and video cameras are being utilized to monitor the procession and traffic arrangements in the city.

Police will be utilizing Helicopter for aerial survey to review the progress of Ganesh procession and immersion tomorrow.
