Difficulties due to demonitisation move are temporary: Dattatraya

Hyderabad: Union Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatraya on Wednesday said that the difficulties being faced by the people due to demonitisation of higher currency notes were only temporary. He said that the move benefit all citizens in the longer run.

Addressing a press conference at Telangana BJP Headquarters here, Dattatraya said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s decision to demonitise Rs. 1,000 and Rs. 500 currency notes would curb black money and terror funding.

He said that the move would strengthen the country’s economy thus benefitting the poor and needy.

He praised Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao for supporting the Prime Minister’s move and said KCR’s stand would go a long way in fighting terrorism in the country.

Dattatraya alleged that Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi had lost people’s faith and his party was afraid of growing popularity of Narendra Modi.

He also although former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi gave the slogan of ‘Ghareeb Hatao’, the Congress party was practising the anti-poor policies.

He also condemned the left parties for opposing demonitisation move and said that the communist ideology has already been rejected by the people of India.

The Union Minister accused TRS Government in the State of not utilising the Central funds properly. He said that the Centre has released huge funds for weaker section housing schemes. However, those funds were utilised by the State Government, he alleged.

Earlier, Dattatraya congratulated Akula Vijaya who took charge as the president of Telangana BJP Mahila Morcha. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the BJP Government at the Centre was implementing several schemes like ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ for the empowerment of women.

He said there was no dearth of funds to take up schemes for welfare of women.
