Mancherial gets irrigation water from Gudem LIP

ancherial: Minister for irrigation Harish Rao along with Forest minister Jogu Ramanna on Tuesday released water from Gudem lift irrigation project which would irrigate 15,000 acre land at Mancherial district.

Speaking to media persons on the occasion, Harish Rao said that the state government would complete all irrigation projects on time despite resistance from Opposition parties.

He said that the Opposition parties were instigating the farmers and land owners not to part with their lands which the government was trying to acquire for the irrigation projects.

He said that Kaleshwaram project on its completion would meet the irrigation needs of the North Telangana districts. He said that the government would irrigate 31,000 acre of land for the second crop in the district.

The minister said that the TRS government had spend Rs 600 crore on Ellampalli project and added that the capacity of the project gradually rose from 5 TMCs in 2014 to 20 tmcs in 2016.

He said that the state government was making all efforts to strengthen farm sector in the state and was initiating various measures including completion of various irrigation projects. (INN)
