Dattatraya felicitates Padma awardees

Hyderabad: Union Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatraya on Sunday conducted a Get Together of Padma Awardees from Telugu speaking states and felicitated them.

Speaking on the occasion, Bandaru Dattatraya stated that it was a great honour that the Central Government has accorded to Telugu people by awarding highest number of Padma Awards (8 awards) and congratulated each one of them wholeheartedly.

He appreciated their valuable service to the society without any hope for recognition or award. “It is Narendra Modi Govt that has recognised these priceless jewels from the soil who are from diverse fields like Sculpture, Environment, Ayush, Handicrafts apart from I.T, Science & Technology and Communications.

They are of local in ideas but global in application. These are the symbols of expertise in their respective fields and the credit goes to Modi Govt for selecting these soldiers of work,” he said.

Dattatraya said that the Central Government has selected common people who are not much known to the world in publicity nor of any affiliation but have done their deep field work for the benefit of common man of this country and common cause. Today they stand as role models for the entire world with their high thinking, he said.

The Union Minister congratulated in person Ekka Yadagiri (Great Sculptor), Dr. Mohd Abdul Waheed (Unani Researcher), Daripally Ramaiah (Tree Plantation), Chintakindi Mallesham (Inventor of Laxmi Aasu Machine to help the weavers), B.V.Mohan Reddy (IT) and Dr T. Hanuman Chowdhry (Communications) and communicated his heartfelt congratulations to Chandrakanth Pithwa (Scientist) presently on tour in USA and Koteshwaramma (Educationist).

Telangana BJP president Dr. K.Laxman and MLA Chintala Ramchandra Reddy also participated and congratulated the awardees on the occasion. (INN)
