KCR donates gold jewelry to Tirumala Temple

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao on Wednesday donated offerings to Lord Sri Venkateswara Swamy in Tirumala as a thanksgiving for formation of Telangana State. The Chief Minister has spent about an hour performing pooja’s in tune with temple traditions and fulfilled his vow.

At about 8.15 am on Wednesday, the Chief Minister and his wife Shobha entered the temple through the main entrance. They were accorded a warm welcome by TTD EO Sambasiva Rao and JEO Srinivasa Raju.

They entered the Ranganayaka Swamy Mandapam where they formally handed over the gold ornaments to the temple authorities.

The CM and his wife then entered the sanctum sanctorum through the Bangaru Vakili and had the darshan of the Lord Venkateshwara. Special Pooja was performed under AS Narasimha Deekshitulu, the chief priest.

Speaking to media persons later, the Chief Minister said he had prayed for the growth of both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh States. “I have taken a vow during the statehood movement that I would present golden ornaments to Sri Venkateswara Swamy and Sri Padmavathy Ammavaru if separate Telangana State becomes a reality.

Due to Lord Venkateswara Swamy’s blessings we got the Telangana State. I am happy today that I have presented the ornaments and fulfilled my vow,” he said.

KCR said he wanted to visit Tirupati immediately after the formation of Telangana State. However, he could not do so. “I prayed to the Lord to take care of the Telangana State and bless that it should do well.

I also prayed from bottom of my heart to make the two Telugu States flourish. Not only the two states, I prayed for the well being of the entire country.

I thank everyone for their cooperation,” the CM said in his brief message to people at Sri Ranganayaka Swamy Mandapam.
