GHMC chief praises retired players for free coaching services

Hyderabad: Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner Dr. B. Janardhan Reddy has praised the retired players for rendering free coaching in the corporation’s Summer Camps.

According to the Commissioner, of 2069 coaches who are giving training to students during Summer Camps in various disciplines, only 103 coaches are being paid a monthly remuneration.

Remaining 1,966 coaches, who are retired national and international players, are rendering services at free of cost only for the promotion of sports.

The Commissioner interacted with the senior retired coaches like Kaleem-ul Haq, Hari Narayana, Radhakrishna Reddy, Ashok Reddy and many other national and international retired sportspersons.

Keeping in view of their valuable services, the GHMC has selected some of the national and international players for financial assistance of Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 7,500/- as a token of encouragement. The GHMC is also planning to honor around 1966 coaches in the near future, said the Commissioner. (INN)
