KTR hits back at Rahul Gandhi

Hyderabad: Industries Minister K. Tarakarama Rao has hit back at Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi and challenged him to first win four Assembly seats in his Amethi constituency before dreaming of winning Telangana Assembly elections.

Addressing the gathering of MSME Industries at Balanagar on Saturday, KTR said Rahul Gandhi’s entry into any State has proved disastrous for the Congress party.

He said this was proved in Uttar Pradesh and many other States. He said Rahul Gandhi was fast losing his relevance and soon he would be forgotten in politics.

KTR blamed the Congress party for forcefully merging Telangana with Andhra Pradesh. He said held Congress party responsible for killing of 369 students in Telangana agitation of 1969.

He asked whether the then Congress Government was not responsible for the suicide of hundreds of youth for the sake of Telangana statehood. He alleged that the local Congress leaders had dual stand on the Telangana issue during the statehood movement.

He said that although the Congress party had promised to waive off Rs. 2 lakh crop loans, it was rejected by the people who voted in favour of TRS which promised Rs. 1 lakh loan waiver.

He said that the Congress party has been facing rejection by the people since 2014 and it lost all the elections since Telangana formation. He advised Congress leaders to stop levelling baseless allegations against TRS Government. (INN)
