University of Hyderabad’s Prof. Raja Angara Passes Away

Faculty of University of Hyderabad Prof. Angara V. Raja passed away suddenly owing to a cardiac arrest earlier today. He was a faculty in the Department of Economics, and a visiting professor of NALSAR University.

Reacting to Prof. Raja’s sudden death, NALSAR University’s faculty member Sidharth Chauhan said he was “very saddened” to share the news.

“He was a meticulous and committed teacher who was also very inquisitive about fields other than those in his comfort zone,” said Mr. Chauhan about Prof. Raja.

“He was among a small group of Indian scholars who have seriously engaged with the sub-field of ‘Law and Economics’. Our thoughts are with his family in this difficult time.”

Prof. Raja had his PhD from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur with research interest in Micro Economic Theory, Industrial Economics, and Theory of the Firm, Law & Economics.

He is an alumnus of Banaras Hindu University (BHU), and did his graduation and post graduation in economics from there.
