Sesame Street Preschool Students Celebrate Sports Day in Gachibowli

Sesame Street Preschool students get a chance to explore their hidden sports interests and enjoy a healthy competition with each other in Sports Day.

Press Release: February 8:  The idiom “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy” holds true even for the young learners. Sports, whether team-based or individual, are great for children as they provide not just physical activity, but also help build children’s self-esteem, confidence, social skills and motivate them to excel in life. In recognition of the importance of sports in a child’s life, Sesame Street Preschool, Kondapur, Gachibowli celebrated its Annual Sports Day at NVK Tennis Academy, Kondapur.

During the fun-filled day, children along with their parents participated in various races, drills and exercises. The day began with a speech by the Honourable Chief Guest, Ms. Kaumudi Nagaraju, an eminent educationist who has been associated with ‘Move the Wheel’ Foundation for long and is a working on teacher training projects across Hyderabad. This was followed by a March Past by all students of Sesame Street Preschool including PG, Nursery, Prep-I and Prep-II classes. The students entertained the audience with a spectacular mass drill where they performed various exercises.

Children participated in large numbers in engaging and innovative races which got the crowd cheering like Banana Race, Vegetable Race, Alphabet Race, Number Race, Frog Jumping Race, Rabbit Hopping Race, Complete the Puzzle Race and Beading Race. Kids especially enjoyed the exciting on-ground games which were planned for them like the ‘Fill your basket’ and ‘Play with Shapes’ Games. At the end of the event, children invited their parents to participate in special activities like the banana eating race, 3 legged race and family race. It was exhilarating to look at little ones cheering for their parents.

The Annual Sports Day helps children to explore their hidden sports interests as they enjoy a healthy competition with each other. More than the physical activity, such events help children build confidence and social skills and also teaches them the benefits of goal-setting and practice. We were delighted to see the enthusiasm among both parents and children as the fun-filled day came to an end.”
