CM Revanth asks officials to identify 1,000 acres of land for new industries

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has directed the officials to identify 500 to 1000 acres of land outside the Outer Ring Road and inside the Regional Ring Road to establish new industrial areas. They should also be within 50 to 100 km of airports, and national and state highways.

The Chief Minister addressed a high-level review meeting attended by Deputy CM and Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and other officials at the Dr BR Ambedkar Telangana Secretariat on Monday.

Speaking on this occasion, the Chief Minister clarified that the lands to be acquired for industries should be barren and unfit for cultivation. With this, farmers would not be harmed and there would be less pollution and decentralization of development. He directed the officials to provide complete details about the lands allocated for industries in the state and the lands that are not being used for industrial purposes.

The Chief Minister said that industrial decentralization is being given priority. Large parcels of land have been allotted to many companies to set up industries in different parts of the state. He directed the officials to submit a full report on the number of industries in and around Hyderabad and their current status. It is stated that priority should be given to non-polluting industries and alternatives should be suggested in the case of Nacharam, Jeedimetla, Katedan etc. industrial uses in Hyderabad. He asked the officials to study the procedures in place in the Middle East and European countries on the steps to be taken to set up bulk drug product companies.

Revanth Reddy said that the government, useless and barren lands should be identified in the nine districts of the state and priority should be given to setting up industries. They should be away from residential areas. Due to this, the prices of the respective lands would also be low and the farmers would also cooperate in the land acquisition process. He said that steps should be taken to ensure that industries use solar power instead of thermal electricity.

The Chief Minister also asked the officials to make appropriate plans on priority to develop the villages of the state as model villages. On this occasion, CM inquired about the condition of IDPL lands in Balanagar. He ordered to give a comprehensive report on this.Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari, Industries Department Special Chief Secretary Jayesh Ranjan, Municipal Administration Department Principal Secretary Dana Kishore, Industries Department Director Krishna Bhaskar, CMO Officers Seshadri, Shivdhar Reddy, and Shah Nawaz Qasim were among those present in the review meeting. (INN)
