OU plans grand Centenary Celebrations next year

Osmania University (OU) is planning to make Centenary Celebrations a grand event. The Hyderabad-based varsity officials met Telangana’s deputy chief minister Kadiyam Srihari yesterday to invite him for the same.

In the meeting, OU vice chancellor Prof S Ramachandram along with registrar Prof E Suresh Kumar discussed various things related to Centenary Celebrations with the Dy CM Srihari, MP Keshava Rao, Spl Chief Secretary for Education Ranjeev Acharya.

“Role of Osmania University in shaping and transforming Telangana and its contribution to society in the years to come” is going to be one of the themes in Centenary Celebrations.

In the meeting, they have decided to inaugurate the celebrations on 26 April 2017 and invite President of India, Union HRD Minister, Governor of Telangana, Chief Minister, among many others for the inaugural event.

The OU officials also decided to feature lectures by distinguished academics of international repute in the Inaugural event of Centenary Celebrations.

In addition, a documentary on Osmania University featuring its history, varied facets and achievements since its inception would be made.

The Inaugural celebrations would be held for three days, according to the OU officials.
