Turkmenistan to enter into MoUs with Osmania University

Diplomats from Turkmenistan visited Osmania University (OU) yesterday and expressed their interest to enter into memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the university.

Rejepov, the Attache and Ishanguly Orazov, the Third Secretary from the Embassy of Turkmenistan in New Delhi called on OU vice chancellor Prof. S. Ramachandram in Hyderabad and informed him of their interest.

They briefed the Vice Chancellor about common features of India and Turkmenistan, and expressed their interest in entering into MoUs with the varsity for exchange of faculty and students, and research collaboration, OU said in a release.

They discussed the progress of education of about 65 students from Turkmenistan studying in various courses at the Hyderabad-based university.

Prof. Ramachandram informed them about the Centenary celebrations of Osmania scheduled to commence from April 26, 2017.

In addition, he assured them of necessary cooperation from OU in the field of higher education especially in the engineering, science and social sciences streams.

The delegates suggested collaboration with Osmania University in conducting an international seminar on a topic of importance to Osmania and Turkmenistan.

They also mentioned about the lifestyle of the people from Turkmenistan, its rich natural gas resources, and also the ongoing TAPI gas line’s progress.
