Hyderabad: BJP Telangana unit president Dr. K Laxman said that the Congress party never gave architect of Constitution Dr B R Ambedkar his due and had instead insulted him.
Speaking at programme to mark Constitution Day organised by BJP SC Morcha here at the party office,
Laxman said that it was Prime Minister Narendra Modi who visited the village of B R Ambedkar and paid tributes to the maker of the constitution.
He said that Congress had insulted the Dalit icon and had pitted candidate against Ambedkar in the election. He said that there was a need to inform the new generation about the historical facts.
BJP leader said that the Centre was taking numerous steps to empower members of Dalits community.
He said that the BJP was growing every day due to welfare scheme brought out by the Centre aiming at overall welfare of all sections of the society. SC Morch chief V. Ashok and others were present. (INN)
