CM KCR meets Akhilesh Yadav in Delhi

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao met Samajwadi Party president and former CM of Uttar Pradesh Akhilesh Yadav at his official residence in New Delhi on Friday.

According to sources, the meeting between CM KCR and Akhilesh Yadav lasted for over one hour. On the occasion, the two leaders discussed national politics and other national issues. (INN)

LFC World heads to Delhi

New Delhi: Liverpool FC has confirmed Delhi as the next stop for its interactive roadshow, LFC World.

The unique fan experience will arrive at the Select Citywalk Mall on 7th March 2020, bringing Liverpool Football Club directly to supporters in India via the LFC World hub.

LFC World is now in its fourth season, having met thousands of fans in eight countries across the world since 2016.

Liverpool Legends Emile Heskey and Jason McAteer will be in town for the event, giving local fans the opportunity to meet former players as well as take part in a range of engaging and interactive activities.

Reds in Delhi can also have their photograph taken with one of the most prestigious trophies in world football – the UEFA Champions League trophy, which LFC won for the sixth time last season – and various iconic recreations of Anfield such as the Shankly Gates, This Is Anfield sign and the players’ dressing room.

Emile Heskey said: “LFC World Delhi is the place to be for Reds in India. We know not all our fans can get to Anfield, so we want to bring the club closer to them.

“We’re really looking forward to visiting Delhi and meeting all of our supporters out there – it will be a fantastic experience for us and them!”

Following a day of free LFC-themed activities, fans can be part of a BOSS nights gig featuring Jamie Webster – creator of the Reds famous “Allez allez allez” song – and share the match-day atmosphere at a viewing party as the team takes on Bournemouth in the Premier League back at Anfield.

LFC World Delhi opens at 11:00 and on-stage activity will commence with a Legends talk show from 15:00, followed by the BOSS Nights gig at 16:00 and match kick-off at 18:00.

LFC is working within the World Health Organisation guidelines in the interests of the wellbeing of supporters and staff attending international Club events since the Coronavirus outbreak.

The advice from the World Health Organisation is Delhi is low risk for the LFC World event and the Club will continue to liaise with relevant organisations to monitor the situation.

CM KCR condoles loss of human lives in Delhi fire mishap

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao expressed deep condolences on the loss of human life’s and injuries to many in the fire mishap at New Delhi.

In a message, CM KCR has stated that it was a very unfortunate incident and desired for the speedy recovery of the injured. He further conveyed heartfelt condolences to the family members of the deceased. (INN)

Telangana team visits waste management units in Delhi

Hyderabad: A High-level committee headed by GHMC Mayyor Dr. B. Ram Mohan, along with Principal Secretary of Municipal Administration & Urban Development Department Arvind Kumar visited the collection points and processing units of waste management in New Delhi on Wednesday.

The committee consisted of GHMC Commissioner Lokesh Kumar, Vigilance & Enforcement Director Vishwajeet Kampadia, and other officials. The committee was guided by Gowtham Reddy, CEO, Ramky Enviro Engineers and their representatives.

The committee has visited collection point in GTB Nagar of Delhi to understand the technology used for collecting the solid waste through portable compactor operations. The advantages of Portable Compactor were presented which prevents from littering/spillage.

It also prevents unwanted wastage, presentable and easy to transport in compacted manner and flexibility to transport more waste per trip.

The committee also had a visit to transportation, processing of Municipal waste using technologies in tandem for composting, waste to energy, leachate management, land fill management, green belt, infrastructure and disposal of residues.

The CEO from Ramky also presented the pollution control measures for flue gas emission control, ash handling system which used for course material in road construction and neutralized effluent from Water Treatment in the largest Plant.

Integrated 24MW WTE power plant located in Bawana, Delhi. The officers had detailed discussion on the technologies utilized and viability to implement the project in the GHMC area of Hyderabad.

The GHMC Mayor has directed the officers to prepare a detailed project report based on the population in each ward, number of collection points, transportation, and maintenance of the collection/pick up points.

The secretary said that a micro plan should be prepared to initially present the outlay of the project and focus on the community involvement, large scale plantation in the plant area. The committee also discussed the generation and distribution of power from the waste and also the compost distribution.

The CEO of Ramky has said that the present segregation done in the GHMC is far better than any other municipality in the country. The committee discussed on the strategy to adopt the waste management system and its challenges. (INN)

TRS plans Telangana Bhavan in Delhi

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao is planning to construct Telangana Bhavan in the national capital as TRS party’s Delhi headquarters.

The Chief Minister, along with TRS MPs and Vaasthu expert Sudhakar Teja, reportedly inspected the proposed site on Friday. The Central Government is allotting 1,000 square yards of land to TRS for construction of party office.

KCR is planning to lay the foundation stone for Delhi’s office next month on the occasion of Sankranti and the construction is proposed to be completed within three months.

President discusses strategy for greening of Rashtrapati Nilayam

Hyderabad: President of India Ram Nath Kovind during his visit to Hyderabad discussed strategy for greening the Rashtrapati Nilayam area spread over 75 Acres with the forest department officials of Telangana.

Accordingly the plan was prepared and presented to the approval of the Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi.

The planning is made based on the following principles: Retaining the existing tree growth; Merging new themes of planting into existing ones; Landscape work merging with natural terrain; Gap areas with new themes of bio-diversity value and Educational as well as Aesthetic orientation

The plan is approved by the Rashtrapati Bhavan for implementation. During the visit of the President the greening program is initiated on 5th August, 2018. The following greenery development concepts are implemented so far:

Palmatum: 495 plants of 30 different species of palms are planted. It has bio-diversity value, and is a gene pool of 30 species and is of educative value for the visitors to know and learn about different types of palms at one place. A trail path is developed to walk in to it.

Rock Garden: An area with big boulders and rocks is developed as rock garden with cactus plants and other succulent species in combination with colour stones. The state animal the Chital and the national animal the Tiger statues are displayed in the area. The total plants planted are 1830. It has aesthetic value and educative value.

Gymnosperms Grove: Gymnosperms are naked seeded plants i.,e, plants without fruits. Four species Thuja, Cycas, Zamia and Cupresses are planted as a grove. It has aesthetic, educative value and bio-diversity value.

Trees of Telangana: The common forest tree species of Telangana state are planted in one part of Rashtrapati Nilayam area. It is an opportunity to see 21 forest tree species of Telangana at one place. Total 901 plants are planted.

Woods of Western Ghats: Few selected tree species of Western ghats suitable for Hyderabad climate are planted. For visitors it is a learning experience.

Vintage Trees: the most commercially valuable trees are planted as vintage tree grove. Total 550 plants of Sandal wood, Redsanders and Rosewood are planted here.

Sacred Grove: the venerated trees and tree parts used for worshipping are planted as sacred grove. Species planted are Usiri, Bilwa, Jammi, temple tree.

Neem Grove: Area with naturally existing Neem regeneration and is tended for proper growth. The gaps are planted with the Neem plants. Now it is a lush green Neem grove.

Butterfly Garden: A small area is developed in to a garden in butterfly shape. The concept of plantation is mini plants with many flowers to attract the butterflies. High aesthetic value and exciting for the children.

Avenues: There are existing Avenues like Peltophorum, Neem and Ficus, the gaps in these avenues are planted with same species. The three new avenues namely Spathodia, Bignonia and Mimusops are developed. In addition the shrub planting is also taken up in the interspacing of tree species. All along the walkway 60 cm lawn is developed between and avenue and road edge. It adds to the ambience improvement.

Rainbow Tree Park: The trees which flower profusely are planted in a shape of rainbow on all three directions of a triangular plot. About 13 species of 7 different colour flowers are planted. It has great aesthetic value. Total 737 plants are planted.

Flame of the Forest area: The naturally occurring trees and new regeneration of Butea monosperma is tended to develop in to a grove. These plants flower profusely in bright red colour and appear as flame in the forest.

Bambusetum: 75 plants of 28 species of bamboo are planted as grove. It is like a gene pool and is of biodiversity value and educative value as one get to see many species of bamboo at one place.

Lawn with Topiaries: The tree species which can be moulded in to different shapes are planted here to improve the ambience and aesthetics.

Other developmental works include Water Cascade; Tank Development; Nature classroom and Gazebo and Pagoda.

About 175 new species of plants are added to enrich the biodiversity value at Rashtrapathi Nilayam. The financial support is extended by the Rashtrapati Bhavan. Rs 80 lakh released. The work is executed by the Forest Department Telangana are in progress.

The President inaugurated the water cascade, palmatum and Rock garden. He appreciated the efforts made by the forest department in greening the area and bring the complete transformation of landscape. The first lady, Savitha kovind, accompanied the President in the ceremony

Earlier in the morning walk of the President, the executive team comprising of Dr. G. Chandrashekar Reddy APCCF Hyderabad, Sudhakar Reddy, DFO Medchal and Laxman, FRO shown the efforts made by the forest department in greening the Rashtrapati Nilayam.

Dy CM Kadiyam meets President of India

Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari met President of India Ramnath Kovind at Rashtrapati Bhavan in Delhi on Friday.

Kadiyam briefed the President on various welfare schemes being implemented by the State Government. He told that the President that special emphasis was being laid on education and health.

He said more than 500 residential schools have been established across Telangana State and special attention was being paid to girls’ education by setting up residential junior and degree colleges for girls.

The Deputy CM told Ramnath Kovind that the Telangana Government has established 53 residential degrees colleges for women belonging to SC and ST community.

Suresh Prabhu launches various rail infra developmental works

Hyderabad: Giving a sizeable boost to better passenger convenience, Union Minister for Railways Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu launched various rail infra developmental works on Thursday at a function held at Rail Bhavan in New Delhi and simultaneously at Secunderabad and Lingampet Jagityal Railway stations.

The works which were launched commissioning of 500 kWp Grid Connected Solar System at Secunderabad Railway station; Commissioning of LED based lighting at MMTS stations in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad;

Inauguration of renovated MMTS Booking office on Platform No.6/7 at Secunderabad station; Inauguration additional Foot over Bridge at Hyderabad Station via remote video link;

Launch of Hi-speed Wi-Fi at Secunderabad and Hyderabad stations and flagging off extension of Karimnagar-Lingampet Jagityal DEMU service up to Morthad.

Addressing the gathering at all the three places from New Delhi on the occasion, Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu acknowledged the cooperation being extended by the Telangana State Government towards developing Railway network in the State.

The Railways is looking forward to use the potential of the State by signing a JV for jointly developing Railway projects in Telangana, towards which the State Government too is forthcoming, he added.

Focusing on Safety of the Rail services as the foremost priority, the Railway Minister stated that a Safety plan is made to address the inadequacies which are inherited as a bad legacy.

Indian Railways is sure to become the preferred mode of transportation in the future, he stressed.

Union Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatreya, who was present at New Delhi, stated that in the last two years, the rail projects have been given due attention and funds allocated for completion.

He stated that the completion of Nizamabad-Karimnagar-Peddapalli Railway line will provide excellent Rail connectivity in the State.

He also opined that the MMTS Phase-II project in progress will help in enhancing civic infra to suburban places around the twin cities such as Medchal and Bhongir. Nizamabad MP K.Kavitha also spoke at the function at New Delhi.

Earlier, South Central Railway General Manager Vasishta Johri in his welcome address highlighted the salient benefits of the various Rail initiatives launched and stated that the Zone is committed to serve the people to the best.

Home Minister Nayani Narsimha Reddy, Rajya Sabha MP Mohd. Ali Khan and Transport Minister P. Mahender Reddy also spoke on the occasion at Secunderabad. Excise Minister T. Padma Rao Goud and GHMC Mayor Bonthu Rammohan were also present. (INN)

KTR to visit Delhi today

Hyderabad: Municipal Administration Minister K. Tarakarama Rao will visit the national capital New Delhi on Thursday to seek Central assistance for rain and flood affected areas of Telangana.

KTR will be meeting Union Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu on Thursday to discuss various issues including the damages caused due to recent heavy rains.

The minister had directed Municipal Administration & Urban Development Department Principal Secretary M.G. Gopal to prepare a detailed report on damages so as to submit the same to the centre.

The minister is also likely to meet other union ministers seeking funds for various projects. He will also participate in the Swach Bharat Conference which will be chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Telangana is likely to get Rs. 10.73 crore under Amrut Project as 12 towns in the State have been included in the list of Amrut Cities by the Centre. (INN)
