KTR accuses Congress leaders of misleading people

Hyderabad: IT Minister K. Tarakarama Rao has accused the Congress leaders of misleading the people of Telangana.

Addressing a public meeting in Sardarpur of Rajanna-Sircilla district on Friday, KTR said although the developmental works and welfare schemes being implemented by TRS Government was getting appreciation across the country,

Congress leaders of Telangana have been criticizing Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao to mislead the people. He said the Congress Government of Punjab was so impressed with the crop loan waiver scheme that it had sent a delegation to study the Telangana model.

He said while Rs. 55,000 crore of crop loans were waived in the entire country, Telangana Government alone waived off Rs. 17,000 crore of farms loans. He said Telangana has emerged as a role model for other States in the country.

KTR said that the Chief Minister aims to provide irrigation facility to one crore acres of land and to achieve the goal an amount of Rs. 25,000 crore has been allocated in the annual budget.

He said Kaleshwaram and Palamuru Lift Irrigation projects were being constructed to ensure proper utilisation of Krishna and Godavari Waters. He said instead of supporting the irrigation projects,

Congress has been creating obstacles by approaching the court. He said Congress leaders fear that their future would be in dark if all the proposed projects are completed by the TRS Government.

The minister also claimed that KCR has overcome the energy crisis within six months after coming to power. He said today Telangana is among the power surplus States. He said from next year onwards, the agriculture sector too would get 24×7 power supply.

Earlier, KTR, along with Agriculture Minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy and others, inaugurated the polytechnic building built at a cost of Rs. 9.60 crore and an agriculture godown which was constructed by spending nearly Rs. 3 crore. (INN)
