No ‘Red Zones’ in Hyderabad: Authorities

Hyderabad: Hyderabad district authorities on Saturday totally dismissed the reports that appeared in a section of media and widely circulated in social media about classification of some areas in the city as ‘Red Zones’.

Hyderabad District Collector Shweta Mohanty said there was no truth in reports regarding ‘Red Zones’ in Hyderabad and no such decision has been taken by the State Government. She appealed to the people not to believe such baseless rumours. She said stern action would be taken against those who published or circulated such reports.

Meanwhile, GHMC Commissioner Lok Kumar also clarified that there were no ‘Red Zones’ in the city. He appealed to the people strictly follow the lockdown and curfew norms and stay in-doors to prevent the spread of Coronavirus.

There were some reports in the social media saying that Chandanagar, Kokapet, Gachibowli, Turkayajmal and Kothapet areas were classified as ‘Red Zones’. But the authorities have completely dismissed those reports and called them baseless.

Cyberabad Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar also made it clear that no area has been marked as ‘Red Zone’ and the reports going viral on social media were fake.

He appealed to the people not to believe the rumours being spread through social media. He said people have been cooperating with the authorities during lock down. He asked people to help the government in preventing the spread of Coronavirus. He said all necessary measures have been taken to control the impact of Coronavirus. (INN)
